Outlook 2007 Email Recovery (PST) – Not Exchange

by it maestro . Updated 17 years ago

Hey Techs,

I have a slight situation. I am running outlook 2007 and there was an unsent email in my deleted items folder. I planned on opening it up a bit later to complete and send to the desired contact, however, I accidentally deleted it. I am using a PST file (not exchange) and would like to recover the email. Is it possible for the email be recovered? After doing some research, I’ve seen that a few persons suggested to intentionally corrupt the PST file using an hex editor; I chose UltraEdit as suggested by the article I read. The instructions were to delete positions 7 through 13 using the spacebar; I attempted to use the spacebar, however, nothing happens. I’ve never used a hex editor before so any help would be greatly appreciated. Or, does anyone have an easier way for me to achieve me goal if it is possible? Even if it means me purchasing a software, I’m willing, I just need to have that deleted item retrieved asap.

Thanks in advance for your response.
