Outlook 2K & Outlook Express

By bobrace ·
In Windows XP, is there any way of having two users on the same PC with Outlook Express or 2K and keep there email private from one another. When I tried this, one user received email in the INBOX for the other user, even though they were signed onas different users. Is this because both email accounts are configured for the same mail server (mail.attbi.com)?

If you tried this on XP and it did not work... then it's probably not going to.

Windows 2000 creates separate profiles for each user that logs into a computer. These profiles are kept in separate directories. Thus, this mixing of e-mail does not occur in Windows 2000.

I'm surprised the WinXP might have taken a step backward in this sense. (I do not have XP yet)

I have an XP setup, with different profiles, but I use Outlook 2002 so i believe it will work with outlook 2k, just go to profile1 and setup your account, username password and email server address, and same for profile2, make sure you have different username and password.

I assume you are having the 2 users login as different users in XP.

Your question sounds like both users are logging into the same email box on the ISP (you need two different email boxes to do this).

In Outlook Express you can have 2 different identities, one for each user.

Then they get and can see only their own mail.
