Can Outlook 97 run without Exchange Server in a small (15-20 Win95 workstations) network to exchange internal mail only in a network w/ 2 NT servers (PDC & BDC). I'm doing NT work on the servers but do not know much about Outlook. Need pointed in the right direction for documentation on setting up mailboxes, etc.

In Outlook 97 you can install several services. Instead of installing the Microsoft exchange service install and configure the Microsoft Mail service. This service will allow you to send mail between the clients of your local network. Make sure to remove the Microsoft Exchange Service.
