outlook 97 contacts into outlook 2000?

By sanchito ·
Can someone help me with this question?
I have a client that has 2 pc's, one with outlook 97 and on with outlook 2000. When I tried to import the outlook pst's from 97 I am only able to import the mail and not the contacts. The client only uses outlook for contacts. Is there another way that this can be done without switching the new pc from outlook 2000 back to outlook/office 97?

It's been awhile since I've looked at Outlook 97, but if you are having trouble using .pst, you might try exporting from Outlook 97 in .csv Outlook 2000 should handle that format without a problem.

All you have to do is copy the .pab files into the new computer. Good Luck.

copy the .pab file to the new pc.
then, in ol when you create the profile point the address book to that new file. In Services, add, personal address book, pick the .pab file and there you go.

You can copy the Outlook '97 address book (pab) to the Outlook 2000 PC. Then in Outlook 2000, you can point the address book to that file to use this feature of Outlook 2000, or you can import that same address book into Contacts to use this feature of Outlook 2000. In some cases, if you have an SCD file, that will also import Contacts.
