I have a problem on my network with certain users when they open .xls or .doc attachments in Outlook 98 (IMO). Occasionally when double-clicking on an Excel or Word attachment, Outlook will hang (with hourglass) and must be terminated by Ctrl-Alt-Del/End Task in the Close Program dialog box. When Outlook is restarted the attachments always open with no problem. The machines are PIII 500 MHz 128 MB RAM running Windows 95 OSR2 and Office 97 SR-2. The problem is very intermittent and seems to occur randomly. It only happens with Word and Excel attachments. Anyone know of a fix?
