Outlook 98 HTML Viewing

By Dave McCann ·
I use Outlook 2000 at work and it allows me to see html email in the message body.

At home we use Outlook 97 and it only shows an attached html file that must be clicked on in order to read the email message if it comes in html format.

How do I change Outlook 97 to automatically show the message in the message body vice having to double click on the attachment to view it?

Also trying to activate a preview pain but can't find it either.

Go to tools, Options, and click on the Mail Format tab.
Make sure the HTML is select and not WORD or Rich text Format.

Hope this helps.

Tried it and the only mail format option was for sending and not for viewing. I would like to have Html email viewed in the message area, not an icon that must be dbl-clicked on to open the attacement into a browser window. Thanks for the idea. I appreciate the responce.

For information about Outlook, especialy older versions, go to Slipstick.com.
Here's the URL with some info that may help.
I seem to remember a problem with the 97 preview pane. You might want to look for a book at Half-Price books that included acopy of Outlook 98. It's a much more stable version. Here's the URL for a look at 97:
