Outlook and hyperlinks

by elkalina . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

I’ve noticed that in Outlook 2000 SR-1 / NT when you paste a hyperlink into an HTML-format email, a carriage return is inserted into the tag so that the link doesn’t work. Is this intentional? Is there any way to paste links into emails?

The same thing happens when I use the “Insert Hyperlink” command — a return is inserted in the link (when I’m able to create it at all).

When I reply or forward an email containing a link (or a button for form submit), these don’t function either — though this is for some other reason, maybe the DIV or BLOCKQUOTE tags that enclose them.

Anyone else seen similar behavior? Are these bugs, or something intentional? Is there maybe a “disable hyperlinks” setting somewhere in the program options that I’ve missed?

I need to figure this out as my client wants to receive a master document as HTML email, and then cut & paste portions to send on as separate emails.

Thanks!
