Outlook and programs slow

By john.cb1 ·
I am running Windows XP, when i click onto outlook it takes a long while to load. When i check my emails it also takes a long time for me to see each email and it takes even longer for me to delete it.

Even when i try to type my question in here, it delays the time to put the letters in.

This even works and when i try to open applications.

Does anyone know how to cure this

Right click on the task bar and choose Task Manager. What process is taking up all the CPU cycles?

In Task Manager check your CPU percentage of use.
If it's more than 80 or 90% you need more RAM or a faster processor.

How big is your pst file? I believe until Outlook 2003 the limit was 2GB a. If you have 2002 or older and it is approaching that limit you will see a slow down and eventual crash. Try archiving older files, you can always open archives if you need to. Sent, and deleted also take space.

Another person told you to get more RAM, if your don't have 512MB you should still be using Windows 2000, my 2 cents.
