Outlook and web-based e-mails

by naamor . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

I am having the following problem with Microsoft Outlook 2000.

If anyone sends me an e-mail from a web-based e-mail service (i.e. hotmail, yahoo) and leaves the subject line blank, the following error pops up when I try to open the e-mail.

Theinstruction at “0x1000ebbc” referenced memory at “0x8004010f”. The memory could not be “read”

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

In either case the program terminates.

I have confirmed that the problem is not unique to any particular e-mail service. It does not occure if an e-mail comes directly from an ISP.
The problem only occures in Outlook 2000, it does not happen in Outlook Express with the same message.

I have run repair on the app and chkdsk on the system to no avail.

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

My workstation configuration:
Abit KT7 MB|AMD 1Gig T-Bird|512MB RAM|Dual ATA100 30GB Barracudda HD|HP CD12 CD-RW|Creative Annihilator II Video|SB Live 5.1+MP3
