Outlook attacht's won't show up in Lotus

By mach5 ·
A vendor of ours just changed their email from exchange to Lotus Notes. Ever since this has happend when ever we send email via Outlook to them the attachment comes out on their end as a garbled message of characters.
Have any of you run into this problem?

I've never had that happen. But I do know that when you install Office 2000 suite, you have to select the Lotus notes converter - if you want Office to work with Lotus.

Maybe you can try to reload Outlook on one workstation being sure to select to install thelotus converter.

Hi, the problem is that the vendor's end. They need to verify the notes server setup, especially how SMTP is setup There are different settings in R4 and R5, for the latter, SMTP is native. If R4, also check the MTA tables. Also in their Domino Address Book, make sure they have the 'Message Storage Preference' in the 'Person Doc' set to "Notes". The SMTP server might be converting the msg to MIME instead of the Notes format. In any case, it's not problem with Outlook. I have an Notes server running IMAP and users connecting thru Outlook. I have had this problem resolved.
