Outlook Client Can't Change Password!

By aforjeh ·
The exchange clients on my network that are not domain members for one reason or another log onto Exchange 2000 using Outlook and specifying a Domain, Username and Password.

However, they are unable to change passwords from within outlook, eitherfrom the initial login box or from the options menu, with an "unable to change password due to an unspecified error" message....

Any ideas?

I would try to reconfigure the mail support. To do this open Outlook
Goto Tools\options\Mail Services tab
Press Reconfigure Mail Support Button at the bottom

How would this help? We have it configured for corporate use to connect to our exchange server, why would I change this?

To me it sounds like a permission issue, they are not domain members but have mailboxes inside the domain. I would try to log one of them into the domain and see if they then could change their password.

Not too specific but hope it helps

They aren't domain members; that's the point. I need passwords to be changeable by these users anyway.
