Outlook Contacts

By r.reich ·
I'm running Outlook 2007 on Windows 7 Pro. I have a problem with Outlook changing email address associated with a contact. I've tried to delete the contact and readd it but still having the same problem.

Example: Joe Smith is what I have been using for months. All of a sudden when I type in Joe smith it shows his address but when I send it goes to someone else at a different company, ie.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem? If I open the contact and try to delete his email and reenter it it will change to the address it is sending it to (

RE: Outlook Contacts

if I understand correct, when you start typing recipients name and you are offered a suggestion you hit Enter and you have the field filled in, correct?
Well the problem is not in the Contacts at all. This suggestion is from the recently typed addresses not from your Outlook contacts.
The solution is simple. When you start typing the name of the recipient and you get the drop down list shown, point with the mouse cursor over the line you know has the incorrect address and hit DEL. Now type the full email address in the recipient field or select it from your contacts. Send the email.
Next time you start typing this person's name or email address you will be suggested the new and correct entry.

Hope I've helped.
