doing a repair of Outlook? is your PST file too big? Do you have the other office apps installed and are they working correctly?

Add-ons

by seanferd In reply to Outlook crashes

If you use Office add-ons, disable them, or ditch them and the add-on engine entirely. They cause oh so many problems.

Have you checked event logs, or drwatson logs?

You might also try a repair install of Outlook, if that sort of thing is still offered in Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features cpl (or whatever MS is calling it this week).

Commands

You may want to start outlook in safe mode, or start it without add on, below is a website with all the commands to help you find a fix.

Re: Add Ons

by dishneggo In reply to Outlook crashes

I've had a similar issue, and the problematic program add-ons were Adobe and GoToMeeting. Not only would it crash, but it wouldn't close the pst file correctly, therefore next time you would open Outlook it would scan for consistency.

doing a system restore to just before this started? were any updates installed just before it started crashing? Did you try completely uninstalling MS office and then reinstalling it? I know that with older version you usually had to run a special tool to have a complete uninstall and removal of all files. You get the tool at MS site but I don't know if you still need to do that with 07 or not. Did you install any other programs just before it started crashing? How big is the pst file?
