Outlook Express Files

By brian ·
Greets,

I have a customer with multiple folders in OE for managing emails. Is there any way to backup/transport/import just certain folders for another OE user to import? I have tried doing just a single *.dbx file but it didn't work (OE didn't "see" the dbx file as a valid OE data store).

Brian

If these Accounts are on separate Computers use a Thumb Drive to backup all the .dbx files and then use the Import Wizard to import just the folders that you want. You have this option when you get to the point just before importing the folders you are prompted if you want to import every folder or Selected Folders tick the Import Selected Folders Box and then select the folders that you want to import.

Once you have finished you can **** away the data on the Thumb Drive as it's served its purpose by now.

If you are trying to move between different user accounts on the same machine you can just make a Temp Folder and copy all the .dbx folders to that and then use the Import option from there on the second account.

The customer was hoping they didn't have to backup the entire OE folder (its ~2GB), but if thats how it is, thats how it is.

Thanks,
Brian
