I have been using Outlook 5.5 express on a ibm thinkpad for sometime. About 2 weeks ago everytime I started looking at my new mail the program would freeze. I left a question with this forum. I uninstalled outlook express. Deleted all old mail.(didn’t help) Downloaded 6.0 (didn’t help. It seems that I have narrowed it down to Word 7 attachments. As soon as I open the attachment the computer freezes. Other attachments seem ok. The size of the word files doesn’t seem to matter. I must do ctrl altdelete. restart the computer and if I go back into Outlook express and try to open the word attachment same thing happens. It doesn’t seem to matter if I am connected to isp or not.
