Outlook Express + Logitech QuickCam???

By rosetta ·
Lately every time I open Outlook Express a Windows Installer box comes up wanting to install my Logitech QuickCam and asks me to put in the CD so it can complete the installation.

- Mind you, I've had my Logitech QuickCam running on here for over a year, and since I first installed it, it's never done this until now! Plus I don't know what my webcam would have to do with Outlook Express anyway! lol

Now, the first couple of times I just kept hitting "cancel" (because it keeps starting over) until the Windows Installer went away. Then I tried (twice!) putting the Logitech installation CD in and letting it "do it's thing" in hopes that it would stop. - But it starts over again every time I reopen Outlook Express.....

I am running iHateSpam on my Outlook Express, if that makes any difference. But I still don't know what either one would have to do with the webcam...

I've run PC Pitstop scans plus AVG, Norton, Housecall and Panda virus scans - all come back clean. I've run AdAware and Spybot S+D - nothing unusual. I've used Norton to check for Windows problems plus run ScanDisk. I don't know what else to check!

I sure would appreciate any help y'all can offer...
Thanks a bunch!

I would try uninstalling the web cam and running outlook express. if it still happens, try upgrading from express to 2000 or xp outlook.
Hope this helps!

Sorry I didn't post back earlier - it seem the problem was caused by running Search & Destroy to get rid of spyware etc. and it was picking up something that my web cam needs. Now when I run it, I just don't remove that one thing, and the problem has disappeared. But why it tied the web cam to Outlook Express is still a mystery..
Thanks for your help.
