Outlook Express Problem

By TRishi ·
It seems to be that I have been hit by a virus in my Out look Express. When ever I send an email to any one from my PC, the recipient starts receiving hundreds and thousands of copies of one email until his quota exceeds.

Can any one let me know how I can fix this problem.

Regards
Tariq

Use your anti-virus software on your system to try and quarenteen the virus and delete it
Open windows explorer and check the C:\Windows directory and check for any Program .EXE files that are very large
Once you scan the drive and it detects the virus, write down this information you will need it to do futher yor search for this file

Use an antivirus software and update it with the latest DAT files.Scan the system and I am sure that you will find a min of 1 virus. Try to clean it. if not possible delete it..If u find out the names of the viruses, go to Symantec.com and downloadthe Virus removal tool..This should solve your problem.

And after cleaning the viruses, don't open any email with attachments from unknown source, especially attachments with extensions: .exe, .jpg.pif,.doc.pif,.vbs etc...

Actually everyone asked for antivirus program but by chance I found that whenever my number of recepients were more than 40 in the message, I get an error message while sending. I think this limitation is from my ISP (although I did not verify that)and the result is that some of the users specially hotmail recipients start getting multiple copies of same message.
Anyway, the problem has been solved and I am thanful to all of you who participated in this discussion.
