Outlook Express Upgrade Problem

I have upgraded on a desktop Office 97 to Office 2000 and have only just found ot the as a default Outlook Express is upgraded at the same time. Now I have discovered that I have lost all of my sent items.

Does anyone know if these can be recovered at all?
