Outlook freezes

Having installed desktop client of CRM ver 3.0 on a desktop computer MS Outlook freezes when you attempt to create a new email.

It does not seem to consume lots of memory and CPU time, though the amount of memory that outlook is using does increase slowly. You can run any other programs quite successfully.

I have tried unregistering the windows installer as I found a suggestion that this could be the problem as the service pack for .NET Framework ver 1.1 does not appear to be installed, though the version of the .NET Framework in the registry does suggest that the the service pack is installed.

Can anyone help?
