I have a remote user on Outlook 98, using Internet Mail only, whose e-mail has a very unusual problem when forwarding.
All messages forwarded from this computer are attached to the message body as msg00000X.txt attachments (where X is a number i.e. 1). Every e-mail message becomes a msg00000X.txt and any attachments within these messages are removed from the message and attached seperately, along with the text attachments.
-Have had no luck finding any answer on this. have re-installed the users outlook 98,looked in Sent items to see if the messages are showing as txt there, they are.
-Looked under Tools>preferences> E-mail options> change the way the msg forwards e.g. attach the file. None of this helps
-The user is NOT using MS word as the e-mail editor
-Have tried sending differently as rich text, or HTML, or plain text, this doesn’t help.
-Check ‘Reply to’ is filled in on their account properties, that is fine too.
I am totally stumped on this one
The closest I’ve seen to anything like this is http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-AU;q180481 Which isn’t applicable anyway
