Outlook meeting requests

A colleague uses a shared calendar. She has ownership rights to the calendar. When sending out meeting requests, and they are accepted or declined, she gets two emails back. One of them says the meeting is not in the calendar, and it was sent on behalf of her boss. The other is normal. How can she prevent this duplication of responses? Outlook 2003 in Windows XP Pro. Exchange server.
