Outlook Not Authenticating to POP3 Server
The computer has Norton Internet Security installed with the latest updates, etc.
The following are steps I have taken to resolve:
1) Delete and recreate user's account in Outlook.
2) Kill Internet Security processes, as well as Windows Firewall.
3) Completely remove Norton Internet Security.
4) Removed and reinstalled Office.
5) Successfully tested password on Web Interface.
Customer's Computer Software Specs:
- Windows XP Media Center Edition, SP2
- Norton Internet Security 2006
- Microsoft Office 2003
This machine is brand new, but not sure of all hardware specs. It is an HP Pavilion, however, not that makes much difference.
One thing that comes to mind as I write this, after removing NIS, rebooted, perhaps I should have removed the registry footprint? Surely ther is a much simpler solution.
Please help!
Thanks!
