Outlook or Outlook Express

By HumanSpirit ·
The recent article on not getting mail for Outlook or Outlook express has a cure for MSN users.. Go to Hotmail and reset the filter to except all mail. It appears that filtering for downloading of Outlook or Outlook express POP3 is funneled thru hotmail. Hotmail is used for "on the road" getting of mail using your MSN address and no resetting of the Outlook or Outlook Express POP3 is required. If you set the priorities to eleminate Junk mail at Hotmail your mail will be delivered to Outlook or Outlook express pop 3 less what is consider junk mail by MSN Hotmail. The mail that is filtered by Hot Mail is placed in the junk file on the Hot Mail account using the MSN address. If you use the address "Contact" feature of Hotmail then those addresses will pass thru to your Outlook or Outlook express when the highest filtering is desired. It's a good feature to rid your Outlook or Outlook express of unwanted spam or mail you don't want.

Yes there is

I was looking for such info myself a few weeks backs for a friend, elderly lady with a little computing skills. Since I could not find any I ended up writing a User's Manual for Outlook Express. I currently have it available as a MS Word document only (1,371 kb) and intend to have it available as a web pages sometime this month.

The file is available from my web site click on the 'Teaching' link and it is the last document in the list. NB the documents already available as web pages are available from the main menu page as hot links, this is not yet available from the main menu.

My notes are copyrighted but I have also posted a general release giving individuals and educators a very reasonable use permission policy for complete documents.

Order a copy of the book Office for Dummies. I am not being sarcastic or trying to insult anyone's
feelings but I've always found the Dummies books helpful and laid out so that you don't have to read the whole book to get the information you want.

why not switch to a good mail client

by Deadly Ernest In reply to Outlook or Outlook Expres ...

Why worry about all this fancy crap when a better and safer effect can be reached by switching to a free mail client that incorporates better design and security features. I switched to Foxmail ( some months back and haven't been bothered with spam etc since. This is free and they also have Mail server software that is better than most, costs but cheaper than most.

Also solved all my browser problems by switching to Avant ( that has on the menu blocking of scripts popup etc. Also a freebie.
