Outlook .pst file doesn’t shrink with “Compact Now” command

My outlook file is approaching 1GB. It is a personal folder. I have deleted many megabytes of data and used the “Compact Now” but my .pst file does not get smaller. I am running Outlook 2002 on Windows 2000.

Any suggestions?
