Outlook Remote Mail Transport....

By Aspasa ·
Hi,

Using Outlook 2k to connect to exchange 5.5 in the office and then synchronize - offline file - before travel to far away lands.

When in the far away land - AND still in outlook 2k, do I need an email service to pick up my exchange 5.5 mail via pop3 or can i just use remote transport?

Does exchange remote work well?

thank you...

You do not need an e-mail service to syncronize with your Exchange server.

The remote service works fine. The only problem you may encounter is that the network card should be disabled if you are connecting through a modem. Outlook will attemptto authenticate through the network card if it is enabled, and you may get a mesage that it was unabled to communicate with the server. I have seen instances where it does work with the card still enabled though. Go figure.
