Outlook Rules in Error

By nataccountguy ·
E-mail rules set up in Outlook 2000 appear to work on some e-mails then a "Rules in Error" text box comes up saying "Cannot remove message from the folder"

The rule is mysteriously unchecked in the rules wizzard and the rule stops working. Other rules continue to work.

This happens randomly to different rules at different times.

The folders where the e-mail are to be sent are emptied frequently.

Any ideas?

Some problems with rules in Outlook 2000 can be attributed to personal folders. If a user has personal folders set up on one pc, the rules to move messages there won't work on another pc, because they simply won't be there. This can cause errors. I've not seen that specific error before, but I've got LOADS of rules on my pc here and most errors are fairly easily sortable.

Thanks but the folders are on this pc or the action is to delete the e-mail.

Have you applied the service pack - It's hard to believe how many little quirks are fixed by the SP:

Thanks, but yes applying the latest sp was one of our first steps to solve the issue.
