Outlook Sceurity Delima

By ddickerson ·
I have a group of people using one PC and want to set each of them up for internal EMail on an exchange server. I don't want to have them log off the pc to change profiles each time. Is there any way to set up Outlook or Exchange server to prompt the user for a password to gain access to the individuals email within one windows profile. I remember doing it in the old Schedule+ for the schedule but can't find it in outlook. Please Help.

What you are after is Tools/Services/Microsoft Exchange Server/Properties/Advanced/Logon Network Security. Setting it to 'None' will pop up a username/domainname/password box when Outlook starts.

Users will still have to exit Outlook to switch profiles.

Good luck.

You could assign them rights to send email onbehalf of each other as well as delegats. I would not reccommend. Creates problems with each being able to read each others email. You can set up individule profiles open the first one go to tools and select options and select prompt for profile. They would not have to logout of the pc but would have to exit outlook and login with the different profiles.

I looked into this method and I agree with you on the security issue, I want to get away from them being able to get each others email and deleting it before they read it. Your answer did help though, thank you for your response.
