Outlook Send/Rec hassle

By derekdcosta ·
We have recently setup a cable internet service and are running MDaemon as the mail server app in a workgroup setup. No MS Exch.
Users are running both OE5 and OL2000 on the LAN. Dialup connections have been deleted on all but 2 computers.
The problem is: Mail no longer sits in the outbox (despite "S&R immediately" being disabled. It gets sent over the LAN immediately despite the "check for new messages every.. " being selected?
Maybe I'm just being thick but this is annoying me.

Point value changed by question poster.

I think I found the answer... but am willing to listen. Change the connection options under Services to connect manually.

Outlook sends the message as soon as the user presses the "Send" button!

The only way to stop that is to use the Options button on the e-mail to select "Do not Deliver Before" and tell outlook when it is ok to send the message.

2 computers on the network WILL hold mail in the outbox, including net folder updates(OL2K) until send and recieve is clicked. Yet system settings are identical on all computers, unless I have missed a hidden detail. Changing connection settings to manual solves the problem in Outlook 2K.... But OE5 is still a hassle
