Outlook Shortcut Bar Icons

I have been able to change the icons in the Outlook Shortcut Bar in the past, but ists been so long I can’t remember how I did it. I know Microsoft says this can’t be done, but they’re mistaken. Can anyone refresh my memory on the procedure to do this?

  well sir is this outlook express icon on the desktop or title bar ? if yes then go to
  programs\msoffice\msoffice shortcut bar file is there double click it and it would appear on the desktop and then you can customize it for the shortcut bar of icons of outlook
