Outlook Web Access

By aforjeh ·
Next week i'll be opening up an iis server for the management to use for outlook web access... according to ms, it's either basic authentication or same with ssl. Is it necessary to sign up with verisign or somebody, or can i certify myself somehow and still allow people to access from any new(ish) browser from anywhere over the net???

You can install your own CA

In Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack and Windows 2000 Server, you can install your own Cerificate Authority which can issue certificates to your users. This is very usefull if you want to use SSL (you don't need to go to Verisign etc).

In Windows 2000 Server go to Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components. Click on Certificate Services etc.

More info can be found at .

There are several Step-by-step guides which you may find usefull.
