Outlook Web Access and attachments

By AJD ·
We are running Outlook Web Access as a remote client for an Exchange Server (sp3).

When our remote users try to download an attachment using Outlook Web Access (sp3), they are prompted for a username and password. After entering the details (sameusername/password they used to log in initially) the download is refused.

What's going wrong?

Couple of questions
1) What type of security do you have your IIS server set for? Check the properties of the OWA, Then i think you click on the security tab. the first two boxes 1) is clear text & the second ask you what domain to use, these should both be checked. Everything i have read says not to use Windows NT Security on OWA.

2) What permisions are set from the Exchange Server, i think you have to have anonymous set as custom for the server.

Try putting in at the login for the d/l
domain\username then the password, it's a permissions issue within IIS, I can't remember wich one but you need to give auth, users the proper permissions to the d/l asp app.
good luck
Mike
