Outlook won't save settings

By rayrodriguez75 ·
I have 3 PC's running XP Pro OS using Office XP.
It's using Outlook 2002. When I change the settings on the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) it works as long as you don't close Outlook or reboot. Then it's back to the old settings again.

Outlook won't save settings

One of my clients had this same problem. I think PCcillin had something to do with it. However my client was using outlook Express and WindowsMe. I reinstalled IE6 which in turn reinstalled Outlook Express - then I removed all instances of PCcillin and it quit changing after that. I also deleted the mail account and started with a new mail account and entered all the information.

Delete the mail account in question and then set it up again. this should correct the problem.

Have the same problem with Outlook 2000 and Express on WinXP, followed instrucitons given at (even they say just OE) and fixed, you do not have nothing to loose, give it a try

Look on Microsoft for 264672, you will get about two results, choose the one that says (OLEXP: Your Outlook ...)
