outlook.ost file

by defragme . Updated 17 years ago

Using Exchange 2003 and outlook 2007 on XP Pro SP3. I have a user that keeps getting the error message “errors have been detected in the C:\Documents and Settings\User name\local settings\application data\Microsoft\outlook\outlookO.ost Quit outlook and all mail enabled applications, and then use the inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair the errors in this file.

I do so and also delete the old .ost file and restart outlook only for it to work a day or two before the error message comes up again. For one is the .ost file name correct being named outlookO.ost, should I rename it to outlook.ost and should I try using scanost.exe vs scanpst, the error message is saying to use scanpst.

I try and do as much research as I can to figure things out myself, but being new to this business I can’t find a way to solve this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated.
