Outsourced to virtual service desk

I'm a senior (10 years +) service desk support and i'm looking for work. I got 6 certs including MCSE, ITIL v3 etc, fully bilingual...and i was wondering how come companies do not want to try a tech like me working from my home call center? Company seems to be afraid to hire techs to work from there home. I don't understand, company cost is less because no expense for office , equipement etc...

the little guy in India works for about 1/4 of what you do.

That's why.

And yeah, it blows. Tell your political rep to your stop offshoring by putting tax write-off caps for corporations based in your country who offshore more than a minutia of their paid staff and contractors.
