Overflow error

By wolfrg ·
I am attempting to load a software program from cd-rom drive, it auto spins and then a box opens with the word overflow. That's it.
I can't go any further and when try to manually load the program, same thing.
Any ideas?

Check the speed of your CD-ROM drive and also make sure the memory in your machine is running up to par. Turn off any TSR's that may be running in the back ground. There could also be a problem with the CD. make sure that there are no scratches on the CD and make sure that it is not warped.

Thank you for the feedback.
What I didn't mention in my question was that I was able to install the program on my Win2kPro test machine.
Your troubleshooting steps, especially memory allocation, got me thinking. What I did was run defrag, and voila, I was able to install the program with no problem.
There is wisdom in basic maintenance of windows.
Thank you again
