OWA 5.5

by david . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

Here is the situation:
We were a NT 4.0 shop, Exchange 5.5 using OWA, we started a Windows 2000 migration. We migrated all our NT 4.0 DC’s to Windows 2000 except one. Of course we are in mixed mode.

Just some back ground: Our OWA computer got hit by the code red. Rebuilt it, no problem. Since then we have migrated our last NT 4.0 DC to Windows 2000. We have not moved to native mode yet.

Problem: Since we were hit by the virus and the OWA was on our domain, we wanted to move it theour DMZ. Built new computer, put it in the DMZ but when we start the setup for Exchange 5.5 we get the error “This computer must belong to a Windows NT domain before Exchange Server can be installed” Ok no problem we can move it back to our domainthen make it a part of the domain then move it back to the DMZ. We got the same error. Ok. I will but it back in the domain and install the softeware then move it back. Same error. Am I getting this error because we have no Windows NT 4.0 DC’sanymore? What can I do to fix this? If our exsisting OWA crashes we will not be able to get it reloaded because we have no NT 4.0 DC’s?

Any ideas?
Thanks,
David
