Scenario: Exchange 5.5 servpack 4 – IIS 4 – OWA. Workstations running NT4 servpack 5 and IE 5. Only one domain, one site, one Exchange server. No external links for OWA.
Problem: Most workstations can send and receive messages and open attachments
without any problem. However some few are requested to enter user name and password when trying to open an Office attachement. No username or password is accepted. Whatever is typed is rejected, the Office application – Word or Excel – opens but blank. It is irrelevant what version or Office was used to create the attachment. The same message can be read and the attachment open in other workstations. There is apparently no difference of settings or
configuration between these few workstations and the rest.
