OWA Certificate Issue

By rajeev43 ·
My exchange server is hosted inside the firewall and certificate is isssued from the local certificate server. I am able to acess OWA from inside and outside, but i get an certificate error. The mail server name is and certificate is also issued in same name, but if i try to acess with the same name i wont be able to acess the OWA. If i try to acess it using i will be able to access it with certificate error. The external dns is hosted with our ISP, do i need to ask my ISP to create a host name or is there any other solution?
If this is not solved i wont be able to use RPC over HTTPS as well.

When you get the certificate error on the client, you can install the certificate on the client. This likely will not make the certificate error go away (one error will likely remain), but importing the certificate should satisfy the requirements of RPC/HTTPS.

Likely the error that will remain is the fact that your local certificate server which has issued the above certificate is not recognized by your clients as a Trusted Certificate Authority. In order to make this error go away, you need to export the certificate of your local certificate server and import it to your clients as a Trusted Root CA.

After these 2 steps, you should be able to gain the SSL connection with no errors or warnings.
