OWA – Exchange 2003

After I configured exch2003 and enabled OWA under “exchange features” in user property, I am unable to use OWA from outside of my network. when I am in the LAN, I have no problem using it. Please let me know what I need to do to use OWA from remote.

Did you configure OWA on the Exchange server?

Are you using Front End-Back End Processors?

If not, are ports open the firewall?

More information is needed.

In order to use OWA 2003… you will need to open the following ports on your firewall, and point them to your server.
-80
-443

Check the site that you are going to. I just recently went from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 and had the same problem. All of my users complained that they couldn’t access the OWA anymore. They all had shortcuts on their PC to “http://mail.mydomain.com/exchange/logon.asp”. With Exchange 2003 it wouldn’t work that way. We had to take off the “logon.asp” from the end of the shortcut. So it was like http://mail.mydomain.com/exchange. Hope this helps.
