P6T Board beeps on startup

By victor ·
My PC came out of Sleep Mode with a continuous beep coming from the M/Board. I reset the system but beep continues even though Windows loads normally. I have I7 920 installed.

Did you install a new processor or have changed hardware?

Sounds like you installed a new processor, if you did, check the BIOS settings. The manufacturer's M/B specs to see if they match with the processor. Test the memory, one at a time. Make sure you processor fan is spinning and the system is not overheating. Check that the heat sink is in place too.

If you haven't installed anything new, post any changes you have made and more details about the system.

Have you looked in the BIOS

At the Heat and Fan Settings?

It sounds like you are hearing a Fan Alarm telling you that a Fan has failed. With new builds this is a common occurrence when there is no Fan present but it can also sometimes occur when the BIOS resets itself or naturally when a Fan Fails.
