Page fault in non-paged area

By mnedil ·
I started to get the above message. I do not know what is causing it. Further message is as follows: Stop: 0x00000050 (0xFFF7FFF8, 0x00000000, 0x8053434E, 0x00000000). Can someone help me solve this problem. Many of the programs on my hard drive are still working, but when I try some programs like system mechanic to clean the resgistry, the computer crashes and leaves the above message. Help? Thanks. MMN

1st thing to check when receiving any BSOD in reference to a Page Fault is the memory. Use spare memory, or memory from a known good computer. Remove old memory... Test...

Please report back results.

I exchanged the memory with new memory (256 mg.)but the same problem happens. It obviously is not the memory. Any more suggestions? Thanks for you previous input.

First, make sure that there are no peripherals plugged into the computer. Secondly, what you want to do, put th XP Disk in the computer, and boot from CD. Do a repair on XP from here. Your program is hitting a bad piece of memory.

I tried your suggestion but the computer won't boot up at c windows. In addition, when I start windows from the hard drive I cannot access msconfig from the run menu. Any ideas as to what is happening. Thanks for your input. MMN.
