I am an in-house technical trainer who trains Microsoft products. Recently, we have had a rash of page numbering problems that is giving me grey hairs. Documents are created with a footer. In the footer, the autotext “page x of y” is chosen. The document is saved. However, when the document is opened again, the page numbers are reversed. For instance page 10 is displayed as 10 of 1!! I have checked all the usual suspects. I find no common denominator such as faulty template or infected user machine. I have run out of options. Any suggestions? Gratefully,
