Pages open in half screen

Just bought a Mac Air and all the pages only open in half screen. I’ve tried exiting each page using ctrl+Q but that doesn’t work.
Any ideas please?

There is a Pages app, sometimes folk refer to pages as a web page.

But given it’s new, call the Apple Store or Apple to see what they think.

as my learned friend said, it has a lot to do with your definition of “pages”
A web page opened in Safari, Firefox or Chrome, a document opened in Apple’s Pages app, the Mail app or even Facebook, although that would be an improvement.

Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific, I’m new to Mac.

I’m referring to web pages that are only opening in half screen even though I shut them down in full screen.

Let’s hope this is about Safari.

Thanks for all your replies, for some unknown reason the problem cured itself and all works fine now.
