    Locked

    by masoftware ·

Today I have a solution using MSSQL2000 and I’m planning a handheld solution. Than I searching for a corret hardware to do it.
I have been seen many solution using PALM OS and I’d like to know if there is a way to request info from PALM to MSSQL2000.
Any ideias? Some add-on or product?

    Thanks
    Marco Antonio

We are planning to use Access as a “go between”. There are many solutions that allow PALM OS to populate Access tables, then we will import those records from Access to SQL2000.

We’ve had great success using Pendragon Forms v3.2 from Pendragon Software. It provides table design in Access, showing how the Palm screens will look. Then it creates the Access table while building the Palm app in the process. The Access table canbe linked to an existing SQL table, permitting data to flow from SQL to Palm, and back again during HotSync.
Pendragon supports lookup tables, daughter tables, and a scripting language that can do data validation, skip patterns, etc.
They providegood support, and the product itself is reasonably priced (particularly for a poor state facility!)
I tied to it a version of my generic report-writer .ASP program, using a meta-data report table in Access. With this combination I can design a datacollection table in Pendagon in half an hour, and in another half hour have standard data listing and counting reports designed, and my users can run the reports thru the web front end.
