I am trying to install the Palm Pilot cradle w/ Hot sync abilities on an NT 4.0/spk 4 laptop. I have it connected to the 9pin male serial port on the laptop. When installing the palm pilot software, it asks me what com port to use and it only gives me a com3 in the list. This is not working when I try to run the hotsync. I think I need to put it on com1 but how? The software doesn’t list it. Should I have the com ports 1 & 2 installed in the ports applet in the control panel before I install the software or should I not have them there? Either way, it is not using them. Please help me out ……thanks.
