Oh, and because I put a question mark in the subject field, Your subject is not in the form of a discussion. Post as Question ??. Nice try, boneheads.

Anyway, I just deleted 50 unasked-for alert. Seems a bit random as to what I've been subscribed. So, you're not alone.

Well the way I look at things is

You need to think of TR Alerts as an Adventure you never really know what's going to turn up.

Works for me at least.

My guess?

Everybody who posts to a discussion or question.

That's exactly it...

by Keighlar In reply to My guess?

Though it seems my case of "adventuresome alerts" has cleared up. :) I post rarely, so it was pretty easy to see that the alerts I received were from those threads where I made a comment.

This seems to be the likely answer.

It must have started happening to me quite a while after it was happening for you, as my history of unrequested subscriptions does not go back that far, and I'd have a crapton of them if it was happening back when I posted more regularly.

Meh.

Me too

by GSG In reply to Palmetto: Guess who else ...

I wasn't getting alerts until I STARTED a discussion and asked for alerts on that one discussion. Now, despite not checking "Alert me when new comments are made" I new get alerts on any discussion I posted to.

Question for the ages

by GSG In reply to Has to be costing money

Why is it that when I don't want something, and I find it annoying that I seem to be bombarded with it? Example: Alerts, Spam, Junkmail

Corrollary
Why is it that when I want something, and I ask for it, I can't seem to get it? Example: I've been asking for a quote for 4 weeks now on the cost to upgrade a system. The sooner they get me the quote, the sooner we sign off on the project, and the sooner they get paid. You'd think with cash on the line, they'd get the quotes to me, but they still haven't gotten all of the quotes to me.

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

It's like grass!

Won't grow where you want it, but if it can function as a weed somewhere, it'll grow there!

No Problem

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to Question for the ages

Your Quote is as follows

New system as requested 4,000,000.00 + GST

I await immediate payment and after that I will think about supplying the product some time latter.
