Pandemonium

by santeewelding . Updated 18 years ago

Waiting around for pandemonium is a pain in the ass, as in, wildfires advancing on three sides.

Against better judgment, I scored 1.5L of cream sherry to sip while I wait now jaded for what may or may not come. Not a good idea, I know, given long-time and very recent, professional training (CERT).

Refugee friends for the second time have also said in effect, “screw it.” They moved themselves and their dog and trailer to a park by San Diego Bay. They, more thoroughly trained in many aspects than I, are kicking back and knocking back.

I keep them posted by cell (not supposed to use cells) via my monitoring my scanner. The fire traffic on the scanner has overwhelmed most all other normal stuff (looter getting hit over the head by a homeowner with a shovel; boyfriend wailing girlfriend’s mother, etc).

How do you actually confront potentially life-changing sh*t?
