Paring down old windows files

by shermanenergy . Updated 20 years, 1 month ago

I have a 4 year old Sony laptop with a 30 gig hard drive that Sony partitioned into two logical drives of near equal size. Drive D has pretty much all my data and applications. Drive C is almost entirely devoted to windows files and a few files (some of My Documents) that windows seem to require to be there. Despite continued pruning, Drive C. is more than 90% full, which slows an old machine down even further. I’m sure there are a lot of obsolete windows files I could well do without, especially old dll’s, but I don’t know how to identify them or where to start.
