Parsing not same as Evaluating

The definition of parsing :
[n] a computer program that divides code up into functional components; "compilers must parse source code in order to translate it into object code"

The example is an example of "expression evaluation", not parsing. Parsing the expression should return a list of components (variables, constants and operators) usually expressed in Polish Notation or Reverse Polish notation, not the value of the expression.
