Partition magic 8

By edmond_sng ·

There is only one partition on my hardisk. How do someone go about splitting the C-drive into C and D drive using partition magic 8?

Please suggest

Can't say for sure about partition magic 8 but if you use defrag first then use fips (free on web) you simply state how big you want new partition and fips will resize existing one then make new partition out of remaining space with no loss of programs or data. then you can use fdisk to delete and remake the new partition to be 100% native to whatever op system you have. Fips works great on 16 and 32bit partitions but doesn't work on NTFS.

RUNNING PARTITION MAGIC: Upon opening PM, you're greeted by a newly enhanced main page which now includes an optional Explorer like tree view of the HDD's on your computer, a map of each HDD and a list of the existing partitions on the selected HDD. All the usual features like menu bar, toolbar, disk views, partition map, wizards, and status bar remain unchanged from PM 6.0. Partition Magic manages just about every possible function or change you'd like to make to your drive. Due to space limitations, I've mentioned only major functions below:

1. Integrity Check - this integrity check acts as an early warning system informing you of the HDD's status insuring the disks structure is thoroughly analyzed and verified before you change anything.

2. Resize and Move - this operation allows you to change the size of a partition and/or move it

You want to resize the existing partition by using, follow the instructions from the Hepl Menu or Manual

Simply boot off the CD and follow the help text. You just move the slider down how far you want, create a new partition in the free space, and format it like you want. It's simple.
